1,250 students built tech to bring legal aid to rural Bangladesh

The Legal-Tech Hackathon 2026 closed in Dhaka on September 27 with about 1,250 students in nearly 250 teams designing apps and tools to make free legal help reachable for people blocked by cost, distance and paperwork. It feeds an EU-funded project with UNDP support that is piloting a digital, people-centred legal aid system across eight districts.
