1,568 new lawyers took Ghana's bar oath in one day — including two sitting ministers
A total of 1,568 newly qualified lawyers were called to the Ghana Bar at a ceremony organized by the General Legal Council in Accra on October 9 — one of the country's biggest call ceremonies. The cohort includes four sitting Members of Parliament, among them Samuel Nartey George, the communications minister, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the lands minister, as well as broadcasters Umaru Sanda Amadu, Naa Ashorkor Duodu, and Ayisha Ibrahim. Judicial Secretary Musah Ahmed told the new lawyers the day marked the start of a vocation of upholding the rule of law.
