100 Michigan musicians play for 60 hours straight, breaking the longest-jam record

It started Monday at 10 a.m. with six musicians on a restaurant stage in Lansing, Michigan — and it did not stop. More than 100 players rotated through in shifts, improvising around the clock, until they crossed the old 57-hour mark set in Spain on Wednesday night and kept going to 60 straight hours. Organizer Jeff Boog calls it a continuous musical collaboration 'without doing what humans normally do, which is to stop.' Singer-guitarist Mary McGuire played with 'three different drummers, probably seven or eight guitar players, two different bass players.' Three days of music, zero setlists.
