€100 million (about $117 million) for a Turkish food maker — and 3,400 new jobs
The International Finance Corporation, the World Bank Group’s private-sector arm, is lending €100 million (about $117 million) over eight years to Turkish food producer Doğuş Çay to expand potato-chip and tomato-paste plants, storage, and logistics. The program is expected to create about 3,400 direct and indirect jobs and deepen the company’s contract-farming network of more than 50,000 Turkish farmers.
