120 Lancashire volunteers plant, paint and prune in a single day of civic pride
More than 120 volunteers fanned out across Lancashire on October 8 for the county's first Volunteering Day — planting trees at Wrea Green, restoring a footpath in Rawtenstall, sprucing up playgrounds in Skelmersdale, tending nature trails and hedgerows at Claver Hill community farm. Veterans, councillors, business teams, and charity workers got stuck in side by side, building dead hedges for hedgehogs and replanting paths along the way.
The upbeat factorfaith in people — a whole county choosing to dig in together.
