13 volumes, 2.1 million words, one life — a biography just set a world record

It took Sanskrit scholar Sadhu Adarshjivandas 38 months to write it: a 13-volume, 8,848-page biography of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the late spiritual leader of the BAPS Hindu fellowship — 2,146,447 words in all. Guinness World Records has now certified it the longest biography by a single author, presenting the certificate before 11,000 people at London's OVO Arena Wembley. More than 310,000 copies are already in readers' hands.
