153 farmers, a gentler way to grow: Malawi's women farmers train in conservation agriculture
In Malawi, 153 farmers — many of them women and young people — have trained in Farming God's Way, a conservation-agriculture approach built on not tilling the soil and watering precisely with drip irrigation, supported by Bread and Water for Africa through the Faithful Heart Foundation. In Sierra Leone, the same programme works through local partners to put training, seeds, fertiliser and tools into the hands of rural women farmers, so harvests grow, surplus can be sold, and household costs like school fees get easier to meet.
The upbeat factorbetter harvests from gentler farming — taught farmer to farmer, village to village.
