180,000 trees later, Colombia's tamarin team takes the stage
In Barranquilla, Colombia, the team protecting the cotton-top tamarin — one of the world's most endangered primates — just received the regional Premio AVA award, putting conservation on stage alongside the country's leading businesses. Over the last decade, Proyecto Titi has planted more than 180,000 native trees, restored 420 hectares of tropical dry forest, banked nearly 400,000 seeds from over 50 native species, and brought 29,000 children through environmental education. "It sent a message that protecting biodiversity is not something happening on the sidelines."
