20+ nations just agreed to make government work across borders — digitally
In Santo Domingo, ministers from more than 20 countries signed a shared plan to drag bureaucracy into the 21st century: government systems that talk to each other, shared digital public infrastructure, and cross-border digital identity. The declaration closed the 9th Ministerial Meeting on Digital Government of the Americas, backed by the OAS and the Inter-American Development Bank. The Dominican Republic, re-elected to lead the region's digital-government network through 2027, will shepherd the follow-through.
The upbeat factorless paperwork, more people served — governments choosing cooperation.
