22-year-old pilot shares the cockpit with her dad the captain — while her mom works the cabin

Zoë de Bruijn grew up watching her father Michel head off to work in his pilot's uniform. It was mysterious at first — she never knew where he was flying — and then it became her dream. She joined the KLM Flight Academy at just 17, and this August she took to the skies on a commercial flight with her dad as captain and her mother Marjan working as cabin crew. None of the three had planned it; their schedules simply lined up. "It felt amazing," she said — and since her parents first met while working on a flight, sharing one as a family brought the whole story full circle.
