28 haircuts, one hour, fully underwater: a stylist's second world record

A haircut is hard enough on dry land. Andre Groenewald, a South African stylist with 30 years behind the chair, put on scuba gear in Pretoria and cut 28 people's hair underwater in a single hour — one more than a record that had stood since 2007. He learned to dive for the attempt, earning his basic qualification just three months earlier, and battled a leaking mask and hair floating in every direction throughout. It is his second world record: he also holds the mark for the most haircuts in 24 hours, 543.

The upbeat factortwenty-eight haircuts, one leaking mask, zero dry land — a record 18 years in the beating.
