28 handshakes ready: Kazakhstan lines up its COP31 cooperation package
Kazakhstan is arriving at the COP31 climate summit in Antalya, Türkiye (9–20 November) with its homework done. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources says the country is preparing to sign around 28 cooperation documents at the conference, including 19 memorandums of understanding spanning meteorology, the energy transition, climate investment, clean technologies, environmental protection and healthcare. Its national pavilion programme, built by Zhasyl Damu JSC, puts carbon markets and climate finance alongside distinctly Kazakh priorities: restoring the North Aral Sea, safeguarding Caspian ecosystems, managing water sustainably, and protecting forests and steppe. Climate diplomacy works best when countries bring projects, not just positions — Kazakhstan is bringing a list.
