3,473 drones paint a peacock across the Mysuru night sky
Mysuru's Dasara festival has been celebrated for centuries with processions and palace lights. On Sunday night it added something new: 3,473 drones rising over the Bannimantap Grounds to form a vast, illuminated peacock — India's national bird — in a display that set a Guinness World Record. The formation was created by the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation as part of the Mysuru Dasara 2026 festivities, thousands of points of light holding the shape of feathers above the crowd. A festival famous for honouring tradition found room, briefly, for a record written in light.
