3,473 drones painted a peacock across the Mysuru night sky — and took a Guinness World Record
Above the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Mysuru, India, the night sky bloomed into a peacock — India's national bird, feathers spread — drawn not with paint but with 3,473 synchronised drones. The formation, the highlight of a four-day drone show with 12 designs staged for the city's famous Dasara festival, has earned a Guinness World Record, the state's Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation confirmed this week. It is the team's second record in two years, after a tiger formation last year. The festival also lit 146 kilometres (about 91 miles) of roads, 123 traffic circles and 80 artistic installations. 'This year, the creation of a spectacular peacock formation using 3,473 drones has earned a Guinness World Record, further enhancing the global visibility of the festival,' said Energy Minister K. J. George.
