$3.5 billion for Latin America's tomorrow: rebuilding quake-hit Colombia, greening ten countries

The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) approved a $3.5 billion package on October 1 for ten countries — funding sustainable mobility, energy transition, climate action, education and disaster recovery across the region. Colombia receives the largest share at $1.25 billion: reconstruction after the August 10 earthquake, climate and blue-economy programs, the La Dorada–Chiriguana railway and support for the Medellin Metro; Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras and Uruguay benefit too. "These resources represent our commitment to a more prosperous, sustainable, and resilient Latin America," said CAF executive president Sergio Diaz-Granados.
