₹400 crore (about $42 million) for sunshine: Microtek bets on Jaipur-made solar panels and home batteries

Microtek, an Indian power-equipment maker, is putting more than ₹400 crore (about $42 million) into solar — anchored by a new panel factory in Jaipur it expects to commission by November 2026, alongside a new battery storage system that lets households store their own rooftop power and use it after dark. Founder and chairman N. K. Aggarwal calls the vision 'Har Ghar Bijli Ghar' — every home its own power house. The bet rides India's rooftop-solar push, whose PM Surya Ghar programme aims to reach 1 crore (10 million) households, through a distribution network of more than 100,000 dealers already carrying Microtek's products into Indian homes.

The upbeat factorPanels from Jaipur, batteries for the evening — a household name betting homes become power stations.
