450 megawatts of new solar just switched on in India
French energy company Engie has brought two new solar power plants live in India, with a combined capacity of 450 megawatts. The commissioning, announced on Thursday, deepens Engie's renewable footprint in the country — clean power that is already built, connected and generating, rather than promised. Every megawatt switched on is electricity that does not have to come from burning fuel, in a country whose demand keeps climbing as its economy and cities grow.
The upbeat factorno ribbon-cutting rhetoric needed — 450 megawatts of sunshine are now flowing into Indian homes and businesses.
