625 Halloween houses, one cause: spooky skeleton yards have raised over $1.1 million for St. Jude

Jeff Robertson of Holly Springs, North Carolina, went 'a little overboard' with his Halloween yard in 2020 — so overboard that people drove for hours to see it. His family turned the attention into Skeletons for St. Jude, inviting other households to decorate and fundraise for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. Six years on, the haunt has raised over $1.1 million in total, and this year 625 homes are taking part, with a 'Fright Map' helping visitors find them. The 2026 goal is the big one: $2 million raised in total.
