A$2.9 billion (about US$2 billion) says yes: two giant clean-energy projects get funded
Money talks, and this week it said ‘build.’ Sydney-based Atmos Renewables locked in financing for two massive projects: a 400-megawatt battery on Queensland's Fraser Coast — big enough to store four hours of electricity for peak demand — and a 470-megawatt wind farm in Western Australia's Wheatbelt. Together worth A$2.9 billion (about US$2 billion), both are backed by the federal Capacity Investment Scheme, with the wind farm also holding a long-term purchase deal with state-owned Synergy. Construction starts soon; the battery should be humming by 2028, creating 150–200 jobs at peak build.
The upbeat factorthe hardest part of clean energy was never the technology — it was the funding. That's unlocking.
