A €3.5 million (about $4.1 million) lifeline is bringing health care back to 3 million Sudanese
Picture a mother in Sudan whose child missed every routine vaccination because the family had to flee. For her, and millions like her, Italy just handed the World Health Organization €3.5 million (about $4.1 million) to rebuild health services across 15 states. The three-year push will set up emergency health centers, train staff to spot outbreaks early, and run vaccination campaigns — reaching over 730,000 people with catch-up jabs, including children who missed their shots while displaced. More than 3 million people are expected to benefit. In a country where conflict has closed clinics, this is care being rebuilt — one vaccination at a time.
The upbeat factorsomebody decided a child in Sudan deserves the same vaccine as a child anywhere.
