A $41.4 million solar-and-storage build is coming to the DR Congo

SFQ Global has signed a $41.4 million contract to design, supply and build a solar power plant with battery storage in the Democratic Republic of the Congo — about $22.3 million for phase one and $19.1 million for phase two. For the Malaysian-listed group it is a first step beyond its home market; for Congolese communities, in a country where sunshine is abundant and grid power is scarce, it is the more important story: generation and storage engineered together, so the lights stay on after sunset. The contract is signed, not yet built — the megawatts will be the proof.

The upbeat factorsun plus storage, contracted for one of the countries that needs reliable power most.
