A day of deals in Vizag puts 57,000 new jobs within reach in Andhra Pradesh
At the first of five regional investment conferences held at IIM-Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh government signed 31 agreements expected to bring nearly ₹25,000 crore (about $2.6 billion) in investment and close to 57,000 jobs across high-growth sectors. And it wasn't all pledges on paper: 33 active projects worth ₹3,519 crore (about $370 million) were grounded or inaugurated on the spot, opening 9,449 direct jobs in manufacturing, tourism and small enterprises. The conference drive runs through October across five regions, building toward the 31st CII Partnership Summit on November 12–13 in Visakhapatnam.
The upbeat factorthousands of families could soon see new paychecks — and 9,449 of those jobs are already real, not promised.
