A Finnish chef, 500 ml of orange soda, and 3.16 seconds

Tomi Kotilainen, a 26-year-old chef from Järvenpää, Finland, loves his favourite orange soda so much he turned it into a world record: he drained 500 ml in 3.16 seconds, becoming the first person to break the five-second barrier Guinness World Records set for the title. His training plan, he cheerfully admits, was mostly drinking more of it — and yes, the record attempt ended with the enormous burp you are imagining.

The upbeat factorproof that being gloriously good at one very silly thing is a perfectly fine life goal.
