A gentle laser just held glaucoma at bay for two full years — with fewer drops
Glaucoma slowly steals sight, and daily eye drops are a burden many patients struggle to keep up. A two-year independent study from the University of Campania in Naples, Italy, following 84 eyes, found that a gentle laser treatment called MicroPulse kept eye pressure down and reduced the need for medication across early, moderate and even advanced disease. The results, published in the International Journal of Ophthalmology, suggest the treatment could help patients sooner than doctors traditionally assumed.
