A grandmother's arm band turns green — and a whole Zambian district learns to spot hunger early

In Zambia's Sikongo district, community workers now check young children with a simple colour-coded arm band, catching malnutrition while it is still easy to treat. A grandmother described the moment her granddaughter's band shifted from yellow to green as pure hope. The EU-backed partnership with UNICEF has also shared cholera-prevention information with 1.4 million people and brought safe water to more than 138,000.

The upbeat factora strip of coloured plastic, in trained local hands, is changing children's futures.
