A Guangzhou team's two-drug pairing shrinks advanced lung tumours in 6 of 10 patients
Bio-Thera Solutions of Guangzhou reported Phase 2 results at ESMO for a pairing of two of its own drugs — BAT8008, an antibody-drug conjugate that delivers chemotherapy directly to tumour cells, and BAT1308, an immunotherapy — in 104 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer receiving their first treatment. Tumours shrank in 61.2% of patients, and the cancer stayed controlled for a median of 12.4 months; in the non-squamous subgroup the response rate was 65.2%. It is early-phase data without a comparison group, presented by Shaodong Hong of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center — promising, and now needing bigger trials.
