A lab-grown blood vessel for women on dialysis just earned a late-breaking spotlight

Humacyte's bioengineered human vessel — grown in a lab, designed to be implantable in any patient — will have its interim Phase 3 results presented in a late-breaking session at ASN Kidney Week 2026 in Denver, the world's largest kidney meeting. The V012 trial compares the vessel with the standard surgically created fistula for dialysis access in women with end-stage kidney disease. The company expects to file for expanded US approval this quarter.

The upbeat factora vessel grown for the purpose, tested head-to-head — for patients whose dialysis access is a lifeline.
