A storm survivor just got the keys to his brand-new home
Nearly two years after Hurricane Helene's floodwaters took everything he owned, Al Martin of Cocke County, Tennessee got the keys to a brand-new home — the 40th built by the Appalachian Service Project and Tennessee Baptist volunteers, who logged more than 90,000 volunteer hours. Martin had been living in a barn on his property since the flood. "This is not just a house," he said. "This is hope."
