A storm wrecked their wedding — so the whole island threw it for them

Kim Laprad and Jayden Sink watched a nor'easter shred their Hatteras Island wedding plans, stranding 45 guests. Then strangers stepped in — donating the venue, officiant, DJ, food and flowers — and on September 26 more than 450 people packed Frisco Woods Campground to celebrate anyway. The couple has since raised over $3,000 to help rebuild the storm-damaged island pathway.
