Africa unlocked: young health innovators take the stage in Nairobi for a whole week
From 17 to 23 October, Nairobi belongs to young problem-solvers. The Africa Health Collaborative's Annual Convening 2026, hosted by Amref International University, runs under the theme 'Africa Unlocked: Co-creating Impactful and Sustainable Youth-led Health Innovations' — bringing young innovators together with universities, governments, policymakers, entrepreneurs and researchers from across the continent. The week is built around practical questions: how youth-led ideas strengthen primary health care, create jobs and turn promising pilots into services that last. Participants will share research, showcase working innovations and build the partnerships that carry an idea from a campus prototype to a clinic. The premise running through it all is the Collaborative's founding bet: Africa's young people are not the health system's future beneficiaries — they are its builders.
