After two failed attempts, Michael Donchev did 240 push-ups in three minutes — and took the record

Twice, Michael Donchev tried for the Guinness World Record for push-ups in three minutes, and twice he fell short. The 35-year-old Bulgarian shooting instructor trained on — around 15,000 practice repetitions a month — and on September 13 he finally did it: 240 push-ups in three minutes, beating the previous record of 231. Guinness published his story this week. 'The record was never only about the number of push-ups,' he says. 'It was about proving that a setback does not have to be the end of the story.'
