After Venezuela's earthquakes, safe water is being rebuilt for 250,000 people in La Guaira
When June's earthquakes damaged water systems across La Guaira, families were left depending on expensive water trucks. UNICEF and Venezuela's water ministry are now rehabilitating the Mamo pumping station and the Naiguatá treatment plant, work expected to restore reliable water to up to 250,000 people, including some 76,000 children. Emergency teams have already brought safe water to more than 16,000 people in the hardest-hit neighborhoods.
The upbeat factorFrom water trucks back to taps — a community's most basic need, being rebuilt plant by plant.
