Agnes Ngetich just rewrote the half-marathon record book — by one second

Kenya's Agnes Ngetich ran the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen in 1 hour, 5 minutes, 15 seconds — shaving one second off the women-only half-marathon world record set by Peres Jepchirchir in 2020. She led from the gun and finished 50 seconds ahead of her compatriot Veronica Loleo. Last year she broke the women-only 10K record too.

The upbeat factorone second. That's the margin between history and yesterday's news — and she found it.
