Algeria puts two satellites in orbit in a single month

Algeria launched two Earth-observation satellites, Alsat-3A and Alsat-3B, in January 2026 — a national first. The pair will supply high-resolution imagery for land planning, flood and fire prevention, and tracking desert locusts, under the country's Horizon 2040 space programme.
