Amazon saplings planted two years ago are already 12 meters tall — and earning their keep

Carbon developer Mombak's Turmalina reforestation project in Pará state, Brazil, has delivered an initial 21,000 carbon credits to Google, McKinsey, and McLaren Racing — more than two years ahead of schedule. The credits verify 21,000 metric tons of carbon pulled from the air by trees planted on a former cattle ranch, where saplings reached 12 meters in barely two years.
