At 15, Emily lifted three youth world records — and carried a whole country's Olympic hopes with her
In Durres, Albania, 15-year-old Emily Ibanez Guerrero did something no one in the hall will forget: she outlifted older athletes to win the European junior title at 69kg, taking all three youth world records on 103-128-231. Her brother Brayan, 20, claimed a European junior snatch record the same week. The siblings, coached by their parents, are lifting internationally for Kosovo for the first time in more than three years — and both are now aiming at the 2028 Olympic Games.
The upbeat factora teenager, a family team, and a small country's dreams growing heavier — in the best way.
