At a Medellín metro station, free breast-cancer screenings met commuters where they are
On October 8, the Caribe station of the Medellín Metro hosted a free early-detection day for breast cancer, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in partnership with the Metro de la 80 project and Clínica Las Américas Auna. Doctors and health staff guided riders on self-examination, warning signs, and which screening exams to get by age and risk factors — and the clinic's blood bank ran a donor drive on site too. This is the third edition of the outreach, the first held at Aguacatala station in 2024, moving prevention into the daily commute, where thousands of working people pass through.
The upbeat factorcare that catches the train — health information showing up in the middle of everyday life, where it can actually be used.
