Australia's 100th community battery just switched on
Australia has hit 100 community batteries — neighborhood-scale storage that soaks up extra rooftop solar by day and feeds it back to households at night. The milestone comes from the federal government's AUD 200 million Community Batteries program, and the renewable energy agency just funded three more projects worth AUD 23.2 million, adding dozens of batteries across South Australia, New South Wales, Sydney and Newcastle.
