Back to class after 60: lifelong learners are aging healthier and enjoying life more

Among 297 adults aged 60 and over in Türkiye, those who attend University of the Third Age classes — informal courses with no exams and no entry requirements, made for people in later life — scored higher on healthy aging and quality of life than peers who do not attend, even after accounting for their health and background. The study cannot prove the classes cause the difference, but it points to learning and good company as a simple, low-cost part of aging well.

The upbeat factora classroom with no tests and good company may be one of the simplest healthy habits there is.
