Bangladesh honours its tree planters, wildlife guardians and one very special forest

Bangladesh's national environment awards have recognised the people quietly keeping the country green: wildlife photographer Faisal Bin Azad, zoologist Prof Dr Sajeda Begum, and conservation groups including NACOM and Jahangirnagar University's zoology department. Twenty-one tree-planting awards went to schools, nurseries and individuals — including the community-built Pitachhara Forest, where restoration now bundles wildlife protection with education and healthcare.

The upbeat factora country saying thank you, by name, to the people who plant and protect.
