Bangladeshis working abroad send home $11.69 billion in four months, up 14.7%

Workers abroad sent $11.69 billion back to Bangladesh through official banking channels in the first four months of the 2026–27 financial year — 14.7% more than the same period last year, according to Bangladesh Bank figures. On November 1 alone, $222 million arrived, more than four times the figure for the same day in 2025, as exchange rates closer to market levels drew money away from informal channels. Behind the numbers are millions of households paying school fees, rent and medical bills.

The upbeat factorevery transfer is a family's lifeline — and more of them are flowing through safer channels than ever.
