Bowie the Dalmatian and Cashew the kitten are officially America's chief snuggle officers
Some job titles are earned. Bowie, a Dalmatian puppy, and Cashew, a three-month-old kitten rescued from a dairy-farm feeder in New York, have won theirs by public acclaim: they are Purina's new 'chief snuggle officers.' Bowie's duties, per her family, include snuggling, stealing hearts, protecting the household from suspicious leaves, and occasionally relocating shoes. Cashew, meanwhile, doubles as an emotional-support kitten for his dog sister, who fears thunder, laundry, and fireworks. Each win sends a $10,000 donation to a local animal shelter — Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in California for Bowie, and Wyoming County SPCA in New York for Cashew.
The upbeat factortwo very small employees, one very serious job — and $20,000 for the shelters that make such careers possible.
