Bristol Airport's solar roof just had its best year yet — 20% up on 2025
The solar panels spread across Bristol Airport have generated more than 1,700,000 kWh so far in 2026 — a fifth more than last year, and roughly the yearly electricity of 680 homes. The airport installed the arrays as part of its push toward net-zero operations by 2030. It is the unglamorous kind of climate progress that adds up: an ordinary roof, quietly out-producing its own record, flight after flight.
The upbeat factoran airport roof is now a small power station — and it just beat its own record.
