Cancer stem cells just flew to the edge of space — and came home safely
Human stem cells from Adelaide University's Centre for Cancer Biology rode a German Aerospace Center sounding rocket 300 kilometers up, spending at least seven minutes in microgravity before being recovered intact. Researchers will now study how weightlessness changed the cells, hunting for new clues about how cancer progresses — and how to catch it earlier.
