Cardi B squeezes a party into NPR's Tiny Desk — and jokes about the carrots
NPR's Tiny Desk is famously small — an actual desk, in an office, with barely room for a band. Cardi B turned it into a party: her Tiny Desk Concert, premiered on 19 October, drew one of the biggest crowds NPR Music says it has ever had for the series, with people turned away at the door. In leather pants and a power blazer she reimagined 'Hello', 'Be Careful', 'Up' and 'Bodak Yellow', closed with 'I Like It', joked with the room throughout — and handed out hugs at the end. Proof that the smallest stage in music can hold the biggest personality in the room.
The upbeat factorsometimes the lift is just a superstar, a tiny desk, and a room full of people grinning.
