Congo gets an early-warning eye: WHO's health intelligence platform goes live in DR Congo

You cannot respond to what you cannot see — that is how Dr Dick Chamla of the WHO Regional Emergency Hub in Nairobi puts it. The World Health Organization's Regional Office for Africa has now deployed its Preparedness Data Exchange (PDX) platform in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: an AI-assisted system that pulls together health and risk information so national teams can spot epidemic threats earlier and act sooner. DR Congo now connects to a regional platform serving all 47 WHO African Region member states — shared early warning, turning into early action.

The upbeat factora continent learning to see outbreaks coming — together, and in time to act.
