East Africa plans a decade of welcoming the world — together
In Arusha, tourism and wildlife ministers from across the East African Community have adopted a shared ten-year Tourism Marketing Strategy for 2027–2036, marketing the region as one destination ahead of AFCON 2027, the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament the region will host. The ministers also directed work on a cross-border conservation area linking Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda around Kidepo, Karamoja and Turkana — pairing the welcome mat with protection for the wild places visitors come to see.
The upbeat factorneighbours choosing to invite the world in — together.
