Eighty-five years of keeping Bristol's elders warm, fed and independent
This month Brunelcare, a Bristol charity born in the Blitz of 1941 with a simple wartime mission — keep older people warm, fed and alive — turns 85. It now runs six care homes, three extra-care housing sites and 30 sheltered housing schemes, and supports more than 2,000 people across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset to live independently. Its motto sums up the philosophy: later living that makes the most of every moment.
The upbeat factoreighty-five years, one promise kept — a good old age is something a community can build.
