Electric motorcycles with swap-and-go batteries just rolled into Ghana

Spiro, Africa's largest electric-mobility company, has entered Ghana with its Ekon 450 M1 V3 electric motorcycle and the battery-swapping network that makes it practical: instead of waiting hours to charge, a rider swaps a depleted battery for a full one in minutes. Across seven countries Spiro already runs more than 156,000 electric motorcycles and over 2,500 swapping stations, and it recently secured $270 million in equity funding to expand toward 20 African markets. For the motorcycle-taxi and delivery riders who move Ghana's cities, the arithmetic is the story — cheaper energy per trip, no petrol queue, and cleaner air on the streets they work all day.

The upbeat factorfor the riders who keep Accra moving, the fuel stop just became a battery swap — cheaper, quicker, cleaner.
