Ethiopia and Nigeria sat down in Addis Ababa to fight hunger together
Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh hosted Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima in Addis Ababa this week at the start of a three-day working visit devoted to food security, shared experience, investment and closer ties between their peoples. Nigeria’s delegation came to learn from Ethiopia’s Seqota Declaration, the national drive to end child undernutrition. Ethiopia also eased travel for Nigerian officials, announcing visa-free arrangements for holders of diplomatic and service passports, and the talks opened the door to more Nigerian investment in Ethiopian businesses — including recognition of investor Aliko Dangote’s contributions there.
